An RV Is the Heaviest Thing on Your Property

A large motorhome can weigh well over ten tons, and even a travel trailer or fifth wheel weighs several — all of it sitting on a few tire patches and levelling jacks, often for months at a time. Park that on gravel or lawn and you get ruts, jacks sinking into the ground, and a mess every spring thaw. Park it on a slab that was built for cars and it cracks and settles.

What We Pour

• RV and camper parking pads — beside the house, next to the garage, or at the back of the lot with an approach from the driveway.
• Driveway widenings and extensions — extra width poured alongside an existing driveway so the RV has its own spot.
• Boat and trailer pads — a flat, clean place to park boats, utility trailers, and equipment over the winter.
• Gravel-to-concrete upgrades — tearing out a rutted gravel parking spot and replacing it with a slab.

Thickness and Reinforcement

A car driveway is typically four inches. An RV pad is not a car driveway. We pour RV pads five to six inches thick with rebar, over a base that is dug out and compacted, because it is the base that stops frost lifting and settling the slab under a heavy load. Where levelling jacks and stabilisers will land, the slab has to carry those point loads too. Control joints are cut at the right spacing so any movement happens along the lines we choose.

Size, Slope, and Access

We size the pad to the rig you have — or the one you plan to buy — with room for slide-outs, doors, and walking around it. The pad is pitched just enough to shed water while staying level enough to park on. We also plan the approach: how the RV gets on and off the pad, turning room from the street or driveway, and where the transition to existing concrete or asphalt falls. If you want power or water at the pad later, we can set sleeves under the slab before the pour so nothing has to be cut afterwards.

Permits and Placement

Some towns and villages have rules about where an RV can be parked and how close a pad can sit to the property line. We will flag anything we know of at the estimate so the pad goes in the right place the first time.
